NGI Proposes Price Table Changes for North American Natural Gas Market

Natural Gas Intelligence (NGI) is proposing changes to its spot market price tables in an effort to keep pace with pricing changes at locations and hubs across North America. The proposed modifications include adding two indexes, ceasing publication of three indexes, and amending the definition of six indexes. These changes would affect several NGI services, including MidDay Price Alert, Daily Gas Price Index, Weekly Gas Price Index, Bidweek Alert, Bidweek Survey, and Shale Daily.

In addition to the proposed index modifications, NGI is clarifying its definitions for seven existing indexes. While these clarifications do not result in changes to how the indexes are calculated, they aim to make their definitions clearer.

The proposed changes would take effect in October, but details on the exact timing and implementation are still forthcoming. As with any changes of this nature, industry stakeholders may be impacted by these modifications, which could potentially influence market dynamics and pricing.
