Nigeria Filling Stations Slash Petrol Prices Amid Crude Oil Price Drop
Nigeria's motorists have finally received some relief as several filling stations across the country have reduced their petrol pump prices. The price cut is attributed to a recent drop in crude oil prices, which has led to a decrease in production costs for refiners.
MRS filling stations, backed by Dangote Refinery, have been at the forefront of this development, reducing their petrol pump price from N1,305 per litre to N1,265 per litre. This represents a N40 per litre reduction. Similarly, AA Rano filling stations in Abuja have also reduced their petrol pump price by N30, bringing it down to N1,300 per litre.
The latest price adjustments come after nearly two weeks of fuel price hikes amid crude oil price volatility. Dangote Refinery recently announced the free distribution of its petrol across at least five states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), at a gantry price of N1,215 per litre.
