Nigeria's crude oil production rose by 0.4% in August 2026 as the country met its Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quota for the fourth consecutive month.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) reported that Nigeria produced an average of 1,677,777 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day during the month under review, up from July's output. Excluding condensates, Nigeria's crude oil production stood at an average of 1,500,190 barrels per day in August.

The NUPRC attributed the modest increase in production largely to the resolution of operational challenges associated with the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) at the Erha field. The restoration of normal evacuation and production operations at the Erha asset contributed positively to the overall increase in output recorded in August.
