Nigeria Meets OPEC Quota for Third Consecutive Month with 1.67mbpd Production

Nigeria has exceeded its OPEC production quota for the third consecutive month, according to statistics from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). In July 2026, Nigeria produced 1.67 million barrels per day of crude oil and condensate.

This includes a daily peak production of 1.78mbpd and a low of 1.57mbpd. Despite meeting its quota, production fell by four percent from the previous month due to operational challenges at the Erha and Akpo fields.

The NUPRC attributed the decline in production to the disruptions caused by these challenges, which impacted output during the period under review. However, production operations across most other assets remained relatively stable, with operators implementing measures to maintain efficiency.
