Nigeria Meets OPEC Quota for Third Straight Month Despite Production Dip

Nigeria has met its OPEC quota for crude oil production for the third consecutive month, according to statistics from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). In July 2026, the country produced 1.505 million barrels per day of crude oil and 0.17 million barrels per day of condensate, bringing the combined daily production to 1.67 million barrels per day.

This marks a slight decline from June, when Nigeria met 104% of its OPEC quota by producing 1.56 million barrels per day of crude oil and 0.18 million barrels per day of condensate. However, the NUPRC attributed this decrease to operational challenges experienced at the Erha and Akpo fields.

The commission stated that these disruptions constrained production volumes and contributed significantly to the overall reduction in national crude oil output. Despite this, production operations across most other producing assets remained relatively stable, with operators implementing measures aimed at maintaining production efficiency and minimizing the impact of operational constraints.
