Nigeria Meets OPEC Quota with Modest Increase in Crude Oil Production

Nigeria's crude oil production rose by 0.4% in August to meet its OPEC quota for the fourth consecutive month, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The country produced 1,677,777 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day in August, up from 1,668,000 barrels in July. In strict crude oil terms, Nigeria produced 1,500,190 barrels per day.

The NUPRC attributed the modest increase to the resolution of operational challenges at Erhafield, which had affected production performance in the previous month. Routine production and crude evacuation operations were generally sustained across the industry, supporting the observed improvement in output.
