Nigeria Seals $4.5B Energy Deals Amid Growing Investor Confidence
Nigeria's NOG Energy Week concluded with investment commitments and commercial agreements worth over $4.5 billion, solidifying the country's position as a hub for energy investments in Africa.
The milestone agreements were reached during the week-long conference themed 'Forging Africa's Strategic Energy Growth Through Global Collaboration,' which highlighted Nigeria's growth as an attractive destination for investors.
About 39% of the total investment value was allocated to gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, followed by upstream activities at 31%, midstream at 16%, engineering and technology at 10%, and downstream at 4%.
The agreements included a 15-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement signed between the NNPC Limited/Seplat Energy Joint Venture and UTM FLNG Limited to supply 200 million standard cubic feet of gas per day for Nigeria's first floating LNG project.
