Nigeria Surpasses 72% of 2025 Crude Output in Just Eight Months

Nigeria's crude oil and condensate output has reached 72% of its entire 2025 total in just eight months of this year, according to data from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The country produced a cumulative 398.98 million barrels between January and August 2026, averaging approximately 1.64 million barrels per day.

This is ahead of the 1.63 million barrels per day average recorded for all of 2025, which itself represented a five percent increase from 2024's average daily production of 1.58 million barrels per day.

The NUPRC attributed the gains to the resolution of operational bottlenecks at key producing assets and sustained measures by operators to maintain asset integrity and evacuation capacity.
