Nigeria Targets 2.5 Million Barrels Per Day Oil Production

Nigeria's upstream petroleum regulatory commission is pushing to reach an oil production target of 2.5 million barrels per day, a milestone last achieved in November 2005.

The commission plans to revive dormant oil fields, unlock deepwater resources and attract new foreign investments into the sector, according to Dare Olawin's report.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, to protect Nigeria's oil assets in the Niger Delta region.

TSSNL works collaboratively with other security outfits to achieve its goals of securing oil assets and ensuring peace and stability in the Niger Delta region.
