Nigeria aims to reach its peak oil production of 2.5 million barrels per day (mbpd), which was achieved in November 2005.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is leading the push to hit this target through reviving dormant oil fields, unlocking deepwater resources, and attracting new foreign investments.

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL) operations in protecting national assets, especially oil pipelines in the Niger Delta region, are also crucial in achieving these targets.

Nigeria's crude output has not exceeded 1.7 million bpd since the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), despite investment efforts.

Analysts emphasize that sustaining investments and increasing exploration activities are critical to achieving this target and boosting national reserves.
