Nigeria's Crude Oil Production Climbs by 0.4% in August

Nigeria's crude oil production experienced a marginal increase of 0.4% in August 2026, reaching an average of 1.678 million barrels per day (bpd), according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

This marks the fourth consecutive month that Nigeria has met its Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quota.

The commission attributed the increase in production to the resolution of operational challenges associated with the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) at the Erha field, which had affected production in the preceding month.

Restoration of normal production and evacuation operations at the asset contributed positively to Nigeria's overall output in August. The average daily combined crude oil and condensate production fluctuated between a low of 1.64 million barrels per day and a high of 1.71 million barrels per day during the month.

The top-producing terminals were Bonny Terminal, Forcados Terminal, Qua Iboe Terminal, Escravos Oil Terminal, and Bonga, with average daily outputs ranging from 320.04 thousand barrels per day to 92.50 thousand barrels per day.
