Nigeria's Crude Oil Production Hits Record High Amid Boost to Upstream Sector

Nigeria's crude oil production has increased to 1.67 million barrels per day (bpd), prompting the Good Governance Index Group to express confidence in the leadership of NNPC Ltd and NUPRC.

The group, which spoke at a press conference in Abuja, endorsed NNPC Ltd Group Chief Executive Officer Bayo Ojulari and NUPRC Chief Executive Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan for their efforts in increasing production and attracting fresh investment to the upstream sector.

The Good Governance Index Group praised the recent allocation of 37 oil blocks through a competitive licensing process, which saw 143 companies submit 200 bids. The successful bidders included 31 companies that will be granted access to the allocated assets.
