Nigeria's Filling Stations Hike Petrol Prices Amid Crude Oil Surge
Nigerian filling stations have increased their pump prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol. According to a market survey by DAILY POST, MRS filling stations in Abuja had raised their price to N1,230 per litre from N1,210.
This means an increase of N20 per litre. Other filling stations, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Rainoil, Empire Energy, and Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, have also adjusted their fuel prices between N1,250 and N1,299 per litre.
The manager at an MRS filling station, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that the directive to increase the price came from the company's headquarters in Lagos. 'We got the directive to raise our price by N20 to N1,230 per litre on Friday, but no reason was given,' he said.
