Nigeria's crude oil production has continued to show signs of improvement, hitting 1.68 million barrels per day in August 2026.

This marks a modest increase of 0.4% from July's output of 1.67 million barrels per day, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The NUPRC attributed the rise in production to the resolution of operational challenges at the Erha field, which had negatively impacted production in the preceding month.

Bonny Terminal was the highest-producing terminal, with an average output of 320.04 thousand barrels per day, followed closely by Forcados Terminal with 317.40 thousand barrels per day.

The country's oil production has maintained its Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quota compliance for the fourth consecutive month.
