Nigeria's Refining Industry Converges for Summit Amidst Crude Supply Concerns

Nigeria's oil and gas industry is set to converge in Lagos for the third edition of the Nigeria Oil Refining Summit (NORS) 2026, scheduled for September 28-29 at the Eko Hotel & Suites. The summit, hosted by the Crude Oil Refinery-Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN), aims to strengthen the connection between crude oil supply and domestic refining demand.

The event will bring together policymakers, chief executives, investors, and other key players across the petroleum value chain to deliberate on the future of Nigeria's refining industry. The summit is designed to connect upstream crude oil producers with downstream refiners, marketers, and traders to maximize value from Nigeria's crude oil resources.

Nigeria is seeking to consolidate recent developments in its refining sector, increase domestic petroleum product production, and reduce dependence on imported refined products. With new and rehabilitated refineries expected to play a greater role in meeting domestic fuel demand, the availability of crude feedstock has become a critical issue for the sustainability of Nigeria's refining ambitions.
