China-based Niutech Technology Group has partnered with a major global energy firm to supply an industrial continuous waste plastic pyrolysis production line. This equipment will convert waste plastic into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The production line, which uses Niutech's patented pyrolysis technology, can process 10,000 to 50,000 tonnes of waste plastic per year.

Niutech claims its technology can convert low-value waste plastics, such as polypropylene and polystyrene, into pyrolysis oil suitable for SAF production without the need for complex processing steps.

This partnership comes as the aviation industry seeks alternative feedstocks for SAF production due to limited supply of used cooking oil, which currently dominates the market.
