NKREKP Inspects Gas Distributors Over Consumption Data Anomalies
The National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Public Utilities (NKREKP) has launched unscheduled inspections into 11 gas distributors over concerns about consumption data anomalies.
The regulator's decision comes after a request from Naftogaz Ukraine regarding possible violations of the law in forming and transmitting data on natural gas consumption by household consumers.
NKREKP will check whether the gas distribution system operators complied with the law when determining the volumes of natural gas consumed and transmitting relevant information to the Gas Transmission System Operator's platform.
The accuracy of the transmitted information will be compared against actual meter readings and the requirements of the Gas Distribution Code and the Gas Transmission Code.
