NLNG Supplies 40% of Nigeria's Domestic LPG, CEO Leye Falade Reveals
Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) CEO Leye Falade recently met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting NLNG's significant contributions to Nigeria's economy.
Falade emphasized that NLNG supplies around 40% of Nigeria's domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), equating to approximately 500,000 tonnes annually. This underscores the company's commitment to supporting the local LPG value chain and increasing energy availability.
Nigeria has seen a significant rise in LPG demand, with consumption reaching around 1.61 million metric tonnes in 2025, indicating an average daily demand of about 4,400 MT. To put this into perspective, some projections have placed Nigeria's potential LPG requirement at more than 3.6 million MT annually.
