NNPC Boosts Gas Supply to CNG Operators Amid High Petrol Prices
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced plans to boost gas supply to operators in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) value chain to cushion Nigerians from high petrol prices.
Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye, disclosed this at the 2026 Gas Technology Exhibition and Conference, Gastech, in Bangkok, Thailand. He stated that NNPC is increasing gas supply to the domestic market, with particular attention given to CNG operators.
Ogunleye revealed that the Gas Master Plan has already yielded results, with about 791 million standard cubic feet (scf) of incremental gas supply recorded by the end of August. This represents 17% of the Federal Government's target of delivering 4.6 billion scf of incremental gas between the end of 2025 and 2030.
