NNPC Records Steady Growth in Crude Oil and Gas Production
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reported steady growth in national crude oil and gas production. According to a statement by the company, average crude oil production stood at 1.60 million barrels per day (mbpd), inclusive of condensate, as of April 2025. This output rose through the second half of 2025 and stabilised at 1.67 mbpd, inclusive of condensate, by April 2026.
The development resulted in an increase of approximately 80,000 barrels per day, representing a six percent growth in crude oil production. The company also reported that its gas production averaged 7,354 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) as of April 2025, rising to 7,729 mmscf/d in May 2025, representing a five percent growth.
The NNPC emphasized that it operates strictly as a commercial entity and holds no regulatory or allocative authority under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021. The company reaffirmed its commitment to operating with transparency and encouraged industry commentators to verify information through appropriate channels before publication.
