NNPC Rejects Claims of Poor Performance, Citing Six Percent Growth in Oil Output
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has rejected allegations of impropriety and poor performance made by the Oil and Gas Professionals Forum (OGPF).
The NNPC said its crude oil and gas production have recorded sustained growth under the leadership of Group Chief Executive Officer Bayo Ojulari.
The company's average crude oil production stood at 1.60 million barrels per day (bpd) in April 2025, increasing to 1.67 mbpd by April 2026 - a rise of about 80,000 bpd and approximately 6% growth.
Additionally, the company reported an increase in gas production during the period under review, with average gas output rising from 7,354 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) in April 2025 to 7,729 mmscfd in April 2026 - a five percent growth.
The NNPC urged industry commentators and analysts to verify information through appropriate regulatory and corporate channels before making public claims about its operations.
