Norges Sildesalgslag Introduces New Rules for Long-term Delivery Agreements
Norges Sildesalgslag has issued new rules for long-term delivery agreements between fishermen and buyers in Norway. The rules, outlined in Circular 14/26, cover catches destined for fishmeal and fish oil production during autumn 2026.
The arrangements are made possible under Section 10 of Norway's Act on First-hand Sales of Wild Resources and Sections 2 and 6.2 of the Norwegian Herring Sales Association's business rules.
Under the new rules, an agreement must cover at least 50% of the vessel's annual quota for the relevant species, including any incoming quota flexibility. The agreement must be approved by Norges Sildesalgslag no later than June 30th.
