North American Scrap Metal Prices See Mixed Results in July

Copper and stainless steel scrap prices dipped on North American markets on July 29, 2026, according to the Daily Scrap Metal Price Report.

The report showed that several copper grades experienced price drops, including #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, each falling by $0.05 per pound. Additionally, #3 Copper-Light posted a modest dip of $0.05 per pound.

In the stainless steel category, grades such as 301 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, 309 SS, and 316 SS Solid saw declines of $0.01 per pound, while 310 SS prices fell by $0.02 per pound, and 330 SS prices dropped by $0.03 per pound.

However, not all categories experienced price drops. Aluminum scrap prices remained mostly stable, with only E.C. Aluminum Wire showing a dip of $0.01 per pound. Most aluminum grades, including 1100 scrap, 3003 scrap, and others, held firm.
