North China Copper Market Suffers From Weak Demand
In North China, the copper market saw spot premiums stand at 40-140 yuan/mt as of this Thursday, with an average discount of 90 yuan/mt. This is a decrease of 15 yuan/mt from last week's premium.
The traditional demand off-season has taken hold, resulting in weak downstream procurement and scarce end-user inquiries. Only sporadic rigid demand deals were concluded throughout the week.
Suppliers became more cautious about selling towards the end of the week, adopting a firm pricing mentality. Overall, spot trades remained sluggish with a weak trading atmosphere.
