NV Energy Seeks Rate Adjustments for Northern Nevada Customers
NV Energy has submitted rate adjustment requests to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada for Northern Nevada customers, effective October 1, 2026. The proposed changes reflect updates in fuel, purchased power, and natural gas supply costs.
The utility's filings indicate a decrease in electric rates, while natural gas rates would see a modest increase. If approved, the adjustments would result in an annual revenue reduction of approximately $22.5 million for electric customers and a $3.7 million increase for natural gas customers.
For a typical residential electric customer, the proposed change would translate to a monthly bill decrease of about $1.86, or 1.82%. In contrast, a typical residential natural gas customer could see a monthly bill increase of around $1.01, or 3.05%.
