NYK Joint Venture Launches New LNG Carrier for Chinese Energy Giant

A new LNG carrier called Greenergy River has been launched by HuaJing LNG Transport Pte. Ltd., a joint venture involving NYK Line, for China's Cnooc Group.

The vessel will transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) under a long-term charter contract and is the first of six vessels that HuaJing LNG Transport Pte. Ltd. will deploy for Cnooc Gas and Power Singapore Trading & Marketing Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Cnooc Group.

The Greenergy River was built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and is the first China-built LNG carrier involving NYK to operate under a long-term charter contract with a Chinese customer.
