NYMEX Metals Prices Plummet on July 28
The New York Merchantile Exchange (NYMEX) reported declines in precious metals prices on July 28. The price of gold futures fell by 1.39% to $4017.90, while silver futures dropped 2.00% to $57.30. Platinum futures also declined, down 0.87% to $1599.50.
The measurement unit for these prices is 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams). NYMEX is a US futures market founded in 1882, with two divisions: the NYMEX Division and the COMEX Division. The former handles trades of oil, gas, platinum, palladium, ethanol, coal, electricity, and carbon dioxide emissions, while the latter focuses on gold, silver, copper, and aluminum.
