NYSERDA Report: Global Market Influences Drive Crude Oil Price Increases
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) released its weekly energy report for August 21, 2026, detailing global factors influencing markets such as the Iran war and Russian-Ukraine war.
Spot prices for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose slightly from the prior week but remained higher than a year earlier. Natural gas at Henry Hub also increased, while propane at Mt. Belvieu was comparable to the previous week.
NYSERDA reported regional fuel inventories showed increases in natural gas and total gasoline, while ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and propane decreased compared with the prior week.
