Obsidian Energy Trims Production Guidance Amid Weather Delays and Compressor Issues
Obsidian Energy has trimmed its production guidance for 2026 due to weather-related delays and a compressor issue that affected the Belly River assets.
The company now expects to produce between 28,500 and 29,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), down from its previous forecast of 29,000-31,000 boe/d.
Despite the reduction in production guidance, Obsidian Energy is maintaining its capital expenditures at $300-$325 million for 2026, with $110 million allocated for Peace River heavy oil and $200 million for light oil.
