Odesa Grain Exports Plummet 84.3% as Rail Deliveries Stall
Rail shipments of grain to the ports of Greater Odesa in Ukraine effectively stopped at the beginning of August. According to Spike Brokers, the physical volume of agricultural exports decreased by 60.1% and export revenue declined by 38.4% between August 1-6 compared to the same period in July.
The sharpest drop was in grain exports. Wheat shipments for the first six days of August totaled 93.2 thousand tons, down from 294.9 thousand tons at the start of July. Corn exports fell to 33.5 thousand tons from 293.7 thousand tons.
