OGRA Slams Consumers with New LPG Price Hike
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs13 per kilogram for August 2026. The official LPG price has been raised from Rs241 to Rs254 per kilogram, effective from August 1.
This means that an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs3,001, up from its previous price of Rs2,849. A commercial LPG cylinder will also see a rise in price, increasing by Rs585 to Rs11,546.
The revised prices are part of OGRA's monthly price adjustment mechanism and come into effect on August 1, 2026. The increase is likely to add to the financial burden on consumers who rely on LPG as a cooking fuel, particularly in areas not connected to the natural gas network.
