OGRA Slashes RLNG Prices by Up to 27.7 Percent Amid Lower Imports
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) prices for August 2026. The cut is up to 27.7 percent, with Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) consumers seeing the largest decrease of $6.9527 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).
The new price for SSGC consumers has been fixed at $18.1345 per MMBtu for August, down from $25.087 per MMBtu in July. OGRA attributed the reduction to lower international LNG prices and a sharp decline in Pakistan's LNG imports during the month.
Pakistan imported only one LNG cargo from Qatar under a long-term agreement, while no cargo was purchased from the spot market. The revised RLNG prices were calculated based on this single import, linked to Brent crude oil prices at a slope of 13.37 percent.
