Oil and Gold Prices Plunge as Global Markets Turn Turbulent
Global markets are experiencing turmoil today as oil and gold prices plummet after sharp rises yesterday. Spot gold, which reached $4,450, fell to $4,315, while Brent crude, which had tested above $90, retreated to $87.
In the domestic market, gram gold also experienced a significant decline, losing approximately 200 TL from its highest level of 6,834 TL. The sharp movement in oil prices can be attributed to global and US-origin data alleviating concerns about oil supply, as well as rising positive expectations for an extension of the ceasefire between the US and Iran.
The gold market also saw a similar trend, with spot gold experiencing a significant value loss and falling to $4,315. Gram gold in the domestic market reached its highest level of 6,834 TL yesterday but started today's trading at 6,640 TL.
