Oil India Expects FY27 Crude Target Within Reach After Output Rise
Oil India, an Indian public sector energy company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is optimistic about meeting its crude oil production target for the fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27). Chairman and Managing Director Ranjit Rath said that the company's output rose more than 11% in the past quarter. To reach this target, Oil India plans to drill about 100 wells this year, up from 54 last year.
The company also expects a new pipeline connection to resolve gas evacuation constraints that have held back output. The newly approved Duliajan feeder line will link Oil India's gas sources to the Northeast gas grid and help meet its 5 billion cubic meter gas production target by 2028, Rath said.
Oil India is currently drilling three wells, one in the KG DSF block and two others in the Kerala-Konkan basin. However, Rath declined to comment on potential write-offs until test results are available.
