Oil Price Stability Fuels Market Rebound Amid Ongoing Tensions
The global markets showed mixed results on Friday as crude oil prices stabilized, temporarily easing inflation concerns. The S&P 500 Index rose by +0.43%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by +0.98%. In contrast, the Nasdaq 100 Index increased by just +0.33%.
The rebound in stock markets followed a stabilization of crude oil prices after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for an end to the US-Iran war on Thursday. This move came after President Trump threatened Iran and its trading partners with economic isolation, driving up crude oil prices to a 1-month high.
However, despite this development, markets remain wary due to ongoing tensions between the US and Iran. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed, limiting crude supplies from the Middle East. As a result, oil prices stabilized on Friday but failed to rise significantly.
