Oil Prices Dip Amid Diplomatic Optimism in Middle East
The global crude oil market saw a slight decline on August 6 as investors reacted to renewed diplomatic engagement involving Iran and Oman, reducing fears of immediate disruptions to global oil supplies.
The easing of geopolitical concerns put downward pressure on prices, with Brent Crude trading at around $79.9 per barrel, slipping below the key $80-a-barrel level, while US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude traded at approximately $75.6 per barrel.
Analysts say crude remains supported by uncertainty over shipping routes and the broader geopolitical outlook, keeping both Brent and WTI prices under close watch as traders balance hopes of improving diplomacy against the possibility of renewed regional instability.
