The price of crude oil futures fell marginally by Rs 2 to Rs 7,843 per barrel in the futures trade on Thursday.

This decline was attributed to weak global trends and participants offloading their holdings amid weak demand in the spot market.

Analysts noted that the prices fell after holders of crude oil futures decided to sell their contracts due to low demand.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.24 per cent lower at $83.07 per barrel, while Brent crude declined 0.11 per cent to $88.88 per barrel in New York.
