Oil Prices Pull Back Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
Oil prices have pulled back after five consecutive sessions of gains, according to trading data. The October Brent crude oil futures on London's ICE Futures Exchange are currently trading at $93.24 per barrel, down 0.58% from the previous close.
The WTI crude oil futures for October in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) fell 0.75% to $86.18 per barrel.
Both contracts reached their highest levels since July 24 after closing Thursday's trading. Since the start of the week, Brent has risen more than 7%, while WTI has gained over 8% amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
