Oil Prices Rise as US Strikes on Iran Spark Middle East Supply Concerns
Oil prices rose on Thursday after US strikes on Iran and renewed Israeli threats against Tehran revived concerns about disruption to Middle East supplies.
The Brent crude futures contract settled down $0.11, or 0.12%, at $95.52 a barrel, while the US West Texas Intermediate crude futures contract rose $0.29, or 0.32%, to $91.30.
Iran's health minister said that 18 people were killed and 108 wounded in Tuesday night's US strikes across Iran.
Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated openness to peace negotiations with Ukraine, which could help ease concerns about Russian fuel supply disruptions.
