Oil Prices Slide on Renewed US-Iran Tensions
Oil prices slid lower on Wednesday after significant gains earlier in the week due to renewed tensions between the US and Iran.
The conflict, which involved airstrikes and retaliatory missile attacks, heightened fears of disruptions to crude supplies from the Middle East.
As of 07:32 ET, November futures fell 0.2% to $94.48 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped 0.8% to $89.49 a barrel, according to Investing.com data.
The US energy secretary noted that 17 million barrels of oil flowed through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, but analysts suggested more modest volumes based on ship-tracking data.
