The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted by 419 points, or 0.8%, on Tuesday as rising oil prices pushed bond yields higher.

Rising tensions in Iran contributed to the market turmoil, with Brent crude oil futures jumping 5% to $95 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate rising 5.3% to $90.33.

The US 10-year Treasury yield soared to 4.796%, its highest level since January 2025, causing concern among market watchers.

Nic Puckrin, cross-asset analyst and founder of Coin Bureau, warned that the summer party for risk assets is over, predicting a sell-off in long-duration equities like tech and AI.
