Oil Prices Steady Amid US-Iran War Outlook, Gold Hovers Near Two-Month High
Oil prices traded higher in early trade on Thursday, despite being largely steady as investors assessed the US-Iran war outlook and shipping risks through the Strait of Hormuz.
The October Brent crude futures rose by 0.3% to $91.87 a barrel, while September WTI slipped 0.02% to $85.81. The more active October WTI contract gained 0.2% to $84.53.
Gold prices hovered near a two-month high at $4,512.19 an ounce, supported by lower US Treasury yields and a weaker dollar. Spot gold was little changed after touching its highest level since June 2 at $4,525.79.
