Oil Prices Surge Above $92 Per Barrel, Bosnia Faces Potential Shortage
The price of oil has risen above $92 per barrel, and gas stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina may soon follow suit. Despite the rise in prices, energy expert Edhem Bičakčić believes that private companies will adjust to market prices, as they have done so far.
Diesel remains the most expensive fuel in the country, averaging 3.38 KM per liter. The price increase has caused panic buying among citizens, which could lead to shortages if supplies are disrupted. Europe is facing a potential oil shortage due to reduced Russian imports and instability in the Middle East.
The Oil Terminals of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina assure that there will be no shortage of oil for the market, citing stable deliveries from refineries. However, reserves are sufficient only for a few days or weeks in case of a supply disruption.
