Oil Prices Surge Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions
Oil prices have continued to rise in global markets amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The risk of prolonged conflict has raised concerns about supply disruptions, driving up prices for Brent crude and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude.
Brent crude futures rose by $0.65 or 0.67% to reach $97.65 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures reached $93.00 a barrel, up $1.52 or 1.66%. This marks the highest level for Brent crude since July 24.
The Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for global crude oil shipments, is at the center of these escalating tensions. Traders are pricing in a risk premium amid growing concerns about supply disruptions.
