Gold prices declined on Monday as an increase in oil prices raised concerns about inflation, which is expected to lead to a potential interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve at its upcoming policy meeting.

The spot price of gold fell 0.3% to $4,334.31 per ounce by 0330 GMT after experiencing its third consecutive weekly decline on Friday.

US gold futures dropped 0.8% to $4,375.00, following the surge in oil prices that sparked inflation concerns and boosted expectations of a rate hike.
