Oil Tanker Explodes After Hitting Naval Mine in Strait of Hormuz
An oil tanker exploded after hitting a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian media. The incident allegedly occurred when the ship deviated from a shipping route designated by Tehran.
Tasnim News Agency reported that Iran had warned ships to stay on course, stating that those who deviate would bear the consequences themselves.
This comes as talks between Iran and Oman have made progress in reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic efforts coincided with President Donald Trump's decision to pause US bombings on Iran, which had been ongoing for 13 consecutive nights.
