Oklahoma Feed Prices Surge Amid Crop Yield Uncertainty
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service's Oklahoma Retail Feed Cost Report for July 24, 2026, indicates a shift in the feed market from mostly steady to higher prices for commodity feeds. According to the report, some plants have stopped pricing commodities until they gain more clarity on new crop yields expected this fall.
The increased demand and reduced competition in the feed market are driving up prices. In the bulk feed category, several commodities saw price increases: corn gluten meal rose by $2.50 per ton, wheat midds increased by $5.00 per ton, alfalfa pellets climbed by $2.86 per ton, cottonseed meal posted a gain of $12.50 per ton, distillers dried grains (DDG) rose by $2.78 per ton, and soy hulls increased by $4.17 per ton.
The bagged feed segment remained steady in price, with no changes reported for whole corn, 4 way mix (14% protein), 5 way mix (16% protein), hi protein cubes, cottonseed meal, corn, and alfalfa cubes in 50-pound bags.
