Okoro Assumes Duty as GOC 6 Division, Vows to Sustain Increased Oil Output

A new General Officer Commanding (GOC) has taken over at the 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt. Maj.-Gen. Everest Okoro assumed duty after the redeployment of 19 generals nationwide.

Outgoing GOC, Maj.-Gen. Emmanuel Emekah, handed over to Okoro and expressed confidence in his ability to sustain the division's transformation drive. Emekah commended officers and soldiers for their discipline and cooperation, which he said contributed to increased crude oil production.

Under his command, Nigeria's daily oil production rose from 1.3 million barrels per day to approximately 1.5 million barrels per day. Okoro pledged to build on this achievement and sustain efforts towards greater revenue generation for the nation.
