Oman Gas Production Rises 6.4% in Jan-Jul 2026
Oman's natural gas production has seen significant growth in the first seven months of this year. According to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), combined natural gas supply expanded by 6.4% through July, reaching a total of 34.98 billion cubic meters versus 32.88 billion cubic meters during the same period last year.
The growth in output is attributed to an increase in both domestic extraction and imported volumes. Associated gas fields saw a 7.8% rise in production to 7.88 billion cubic meters, while non-associated gas output, including imports, advanced by 6% to 27.10 billion cubic meters.
Meanwhile, demand for natural gas strengthened across major user categories. Industrial ventures consumed 17.33 billion cubic meters, a 5.9% uptick from the previous year's consumption of 16.37 billion cubic meters. Power generation facilities posted the most pronounced increase among large sectors, with usage jumping by 13.7% to 10.01 billion cubic meters compared to 8.80 billion cubic meters in the corresponding period last year.
