Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has commissioned a gas evacuation facility at Khoraghat in Assam, marking a significant milestone for the company's efforts to reduce flaring. The new infrastructure allows surplus associated natural gas from ONGC's Jorhat asset to be processed and evacuated via the North East Gas Grid (NEGG), developed by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited.

The facility has a daily capacity of nearly 1 lakh Standard Cubic Metres (SCM) of gas, representing a significant addition to the available gas supply in the region. This development complements the earlier commissioning of the Dergaon-Dimapur Pipeline, which connected Nagaland to the regional and national gas grids.

ONGC is also developing hook-up facilities at Jantapathar and Kasomarigaon to connect additional producing fields of the Jorhat Asset with the NEGG. These projects aim to further augment gas availability and strengthen the gas-based economy of the region.
